P I R A T E
This is the first multi user game that allows teams to be formed
by the users.
The game is laid out on a 13 by 13 gird and is labeled as the X
plane from 1 to 13 and the Y plane from 1 to 13 with the location
1,1 in the lower left corner and location 13,13 in the upper
right corner.
The idea of the game is to take your ship from the starting X
plane 1 to X plane 12 or 13 and look for a Treasure Ship and
attack it and take its treasure. You must then bury it on
Treasure Island (location 9,7) and leave it for a minimum of 3
days. Then you can dig it up and return it to X plane 1 to
receive your points. You may do this using a team effort or on
your own.
When you sign on for the 1st time you will be logged of and will
be placed at location 1,1 and will be allowed 13 moves for that
day. The program will display the other ships that are in your
sector.
MOVES:
You may move in any of 4 directions (unless you are on X plane 1
or 13) these are North South East or West. If you move North you
would go from location 1,1 to location 2,1 etc. The gird does
wrap around on the East West plane in other words if you are are
location 5,13 and go East you will go to location 5,1 and if you
were at location 6,1 and stated to go West you you be at location
6,13. Again you can NOT go from X plane 13 to 1 or from 1 to 13.
You will receive 13 moves each day as long as you are not
carrying any treasure. If you are carrying treasure you will only
get 3 moves per day (because you ship is loaded so heavy). You
will receive 13 moves per day when treasure is buried and you
have no treasure in your holes.
ATTACK:
You may attack anyone at any time UNLESS they are a "Dead Ship"
(which means that they have been attacked already and lost) or
someone on you own team and you can not attack anyone on Treasure
Island.
The odds on winning when you attack are as follows:
The number of ships in their team compared to the number of ships
in your team. If you are not on a team and the ship you attack is
on a team of 3 ships then the odds are 3/1 in THEIR favor. If you
are on a team of 4 ships and the person you attack is on a team
of 4 ships then the odds are 1/1 (EVEN). If there are Dead Ships
on yours or the persons team that you are attacking those ships
WILL affect the odds. Also the number of attacks you make each
day will affect the odds.
When you attack a Treasure Ship the odds are always 1/1 (EVEN).
TEAMS:
When you go to the team menu you will see 7 choices on what you
may do.
#1 Allows you to see the names of all the teams, the team captain
and how many openings are left on that team (max is 4).

DISPLAY:
If you are on a team and its name is KEN'S RAIDERS your display
will look like this to other members:
Bill Goodfellow [KEN'S RAIDERS]
It will look like this to you:
Yourself [KEN'S RAIDERS]
If someone attacked you while you were off the system and you
lost the fight you will be informed who attacked you and what was
lost and will look like:
Bill Goodfellow (KEN'S RAIDERS] 'Dead Ship'
You ship will stay dead until you sign on and then will be
repaired the next day. You will have '0' moves when your ship is
dead.
TREASURE SHIPS:
Treasure ships are located on X plane 12 and 13 and on any day
their may be any number of ships from 0 to 9 in this area.
BURYING TREASURE:
Treasure MUST be buried at least 3 days to be worth points!!
When you are on Treasure Island and you have treasure aboard you
ship you may bury it. You will be given a X and Y choice of
burying treasure and the grid is 8 X 8 giving you 64 possible
locations to bury it. If you have treasure buried and go get some
more it will be buried at the same location (you have no choice).
Remember you could bury treasure on top of other treasure and NOT
know its there so it pays to dig before you bury!!!
DIGGING for TREASURE:
You may dig for treasure at any location you wish on Treasure
Island BUT you may only dig ONCE per day. If you find someone
else treasure it is all yours but remember if it has not been
buried for 3 days it is worth nothing and you must bury it for 3
more days!!! but if it has been buried for 3 days it is yours and
you can try to get to X plane 1 and receive the points.
HINTS:
It is best if you wish to be a loner to make a team of just you
so that you can keep track of the status of your treasure.
If you bury treasure today and then find more treasure tomorrow
and bury it your 3 days start all over again!!
If you are on a team it is harder for others to attack unless
they also have the same number of members.
If you are a loner you will get all the points for yourself and
not have to split them up with the other team members.
Sometimes it is best to quit a team and steal the treasure and
run for it, but remember they will know WHO took it..
You are a PIRATE and sometimes it is worth being one.
